A bluffing party game, played on your phones
In Fake Out, a strange true fact goes up on the TV with a blank, like "A group of flamingos is called a ____." Everyone writes a fake answer on their phone. The TV mixes the fakes with the real answer, and everyone votes for the one they think is true. You score for finding the truth and for every friend your fake fools.

How a round goes
- A true fact with a blank goes up on the big screen. Everyone has 75 seconds to write a fake answer of up to 60 characters.
- The big screen shows every fake and the real answer, shuffled and numbered, all in the same capital letters so the real one doesn't stand out.
- Everyone votes on their phone for the answer they think is real. Your own fake's button is grayed out.
- The reveal shows the real answer first with who found it, then each fake with its writer and everyone it fooled.
Scoring
Fake Out: a true but strange fact goes up with a blank, such as "A group of flamingos is called a ____." Everyone writes a fake answer that sounds real. The big screen mixes the fakes with the real answer, and everyone votes for the one they think is true. Finding the real answer is 3 points, and each player your fake fools is 2 points to you.
If you write the real answer by accident, it comes off the board, you get the 3 points and you sit out that vote.
Tips for a better fake
- Match the shape of the blank: a single strange word for a word fact, a number for a number fact.
- Write what sounds true to the room, not what's funniest. Funny fakes get laughs; plausible ones get points.
- There are 70 everyday facts and a Holidays deck with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's facts.
